National Volunteer Week at Living & Learning Nillumbik

Volunteers gather in the garden at Eltham Neighbourhood House

Did you know that each week more than 40 volunteers support the programs and activities running across our Living & Learning Nillumbik Neighbourhood Houses?

That includes our Makerspace coordinators, tutors, community gardeners, administration, marketing and general support.

The theme for National Volunteer Week this year is 'the change makers', a theme that certainly reflects the impact our volunteers have for the community here at Living & Learning Nillumbik.

To celebrate National Volunteer Week (15 - 20 May) this year, some of our volunteers joined us at Eltham Neighbourhood House for a lunch and a chance to catch up together. It’s a small way we can show our gratitude for the wonderful contribution volunteers make here.

Across Victoria there are more than 1.5 million people contributing through volunteering. And across Australia, nearly one in seven people volunteer their time for unpaid work.

Thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers - this week and every week.
