Carers are people who provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends who have a disability, mental health condition, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug issue or who are frail aged. Anyone can become a carer, at any time.
National Carers Week is an initiative of Carers Australia, and is an opportunity to raise community awareness among all Australians about the diversity of carers and their caring roles.
Our Carers Hub works to support local carers in Nillumbik and surrounding areas. We help people to access resources for carers, connect with social and wellbeing activities, and support carers with their career goals or aspirations.
This National Carers Week we have partnered with healthAbility to hold a special Carers Wellbeing Day on Tuesday 17 October. The day of activities is free for carers, and includes yoga, massage, Tai Chi and more. Take a look and register for what you'd like to attend!
More information is available on our Carers Hub webpage.
