Community Garden Food Relief

Garden Volunteers harvesting produce

Over the last few months we have been working hard in the Panton Hill Neighbourhood House Community Garden.

Led by volunteers and Panton Hill’s amazing horticulturist Melissa, the project has included installing irrigation, rejuvenating the soil, planting seedlings and keeping pests away while they grow.

Our first crop of produce – which included pak choy, silverbeet and spring onions – was harvested and given away during Neighbourhood House Week.

Given the success of our first harvest, we will be growing and distributing fresh produce for food relief, for locals in need to come and collect from our Food Pantry on the deck.

If you would like to join us each week in the garden and help grow produce for people in need we would love some more hands.

The sessions will now be held on Mondays from 1pm - 3pm.  Come along to Panton Hill Neighbourhood House, 18 Bishops Road Panton Hill.
