Arts for health

Increase mental health, well-being, confidence and social connection through art. Two groups are scheduled: a men's group and a women's group.

Art for kids

Enabling children to develop their natural curiosity, imagination and enthusiasm for art. Tuesday and Thursday after-school classes available. 

Art for teenagers

A fun, friendly and supportive atmosphere where teens can create within a group of peers with similar interests to their own.  Tuesday and Thursday after-school classes available. 

Botanical illustration

Focus on flowers, fruits and plant features - for beginners or those with experience.

Exploring art styles and mediums

Discover your medium and your style - whether traditional or contemporary. Daytime and evening classes available. 

Ink painting workshops  NEW!

Explore your own unique style with ink painting.  Learn the basics of Indian and Chinese (black) ink painting so you can adapt any technique to your own style. 

Japanese ink art

Create traditional Japanese sumie ink paintings and calligraphy on washi paper. Choose a beginners workshop or an "ongoing" workshop if you have done one of Junko's classes before.

Leadlight and glass art for beginners & beyond 

 Learn the beautiful art of leadlighting and working with glass. A daytime and an evening class scheduled.

Learn to draw realistically

A structured course with local artist Lisa Nolan.

Life drawing co-op

Join a relaxed, friendly group of artists for regular sessions working with a life model.  Two groups - Monday morning and Thursday evening.

Mosaics introduction

Workshops for beginners and MakerSpaces to continue after catching the 'mosaic bug' from our experienced tutors. 

Pottery for beginners and beyond 

Learn basic throwing, hand-building, glazing and decorating skills with our very knowledgeable tutors. We have evening classes on Tuesday and Wednesday and a morning class on Wednesday.

Pottery workshops

One-day workshops that focus on a particular area of pottery - wheel throwing, glazing and more.

Watercolour painting

This short course covers different aspects of the medium, building skills and improving technique in the process. Saturday mornings.

 

Books and writing

Creative writing - "Literary Optimists"

Join this established group for a 2 hour session to continue developing your writing style.

Creative writing - beginners

Learn to capture your thoughts, personal history or imagination on paper.  Learn about different writing genres.

Grant writing - for success

Got a great idea but no funding to make it happen?  Shape your 'elevator pitch' and learn the art of writing successful grant submissions from someone who understands both sides of the process.

Knit, sew, crochet, patchwork or chat.  This group is filled with various yarn and fabric crafters.

Create beautiful items for gifts and home decoration while chatting and being inspired by other Christmas crafters in this group.

Share skills and ideas whilst working independently in our well-equipped, light-filled studios.

Be Connected is a run on behalf of the government in conjunction with Good Things Foundation.  The program aims to support 1 million Australians to get online by providing an opportunity to learn and practice computer and technology skills with the help of volunteer digital mentors.  

We also have casual internet access for over 50s

The 'Be Connected' lounge at the Panton Hill Centre is open for anyone who would like to come and use our large screen computers Monday - Thursday mornings from 9am-1pm

Fortnightly activities and excursions for over 60s. Tuesday mornings.
