This course is designed for anyone who would like to gain basic knowledge and skills to plan, set-up and develop a small business. 

 

Description

Join us for this Step up to Small Business course with our experienced facilitator who will guide you through the steps to set up or improve your small business skills.

This course provides learners with the basic knowledge and skills to plan, set-up and develop a small business. Learners will gain knowledge of business models, revenue streams, values, vision, marketing to your audience, and financials.

The course will be delivered via 2 face-to-face sessions at the start and end of the course, and the other sessions will be delivered online via Zoom. 

Topics covered include:

- business models

- marketing strategy and goals, developing a marketing plan

- websites and social media

- financial reports and cash flow

- mindset and psychology for small business

This introduction course also provides a pathway to further business management courses both accredited and non-accredited.

Fees

Funded: $90 enrolment fee

Concession: $50 for concession card holders.

Fee-paying: $240

Government-subsidised fee
If you are a permanent Resident and/or Australian Citizen/New Zealand Citizen and not enrolled in mainstream secondary school you are eligible for a government subsidised fee, please note you will need to provide a copy of your Medicare card for a government funded enrolment. 

Concession fee
This fee is available to:

  • Commonwealth Health Care Card holders, and their dependant children and dependant spouses
  • Pensioner Concession Card holders, and their dependant children and dependant spouses
  • Veteran's Gold Card holders (but not their dependants).
  • Please note: if under 17 years of age and disengaged from school, participants will need to obtain an official Transition from School Form for us to sight.

If you are eligible, you will also need to present your concession card at one of our centres prior to the start of the course in order to be eligible for a concession fee. 

For non-eligible individuals, the full fee will apply.
