Fungi Talk and Walk
Next date: Saturday, 09 August 2025 | 10:00 AM
to 01:00 PM
Join us for an immersive walk and talk exploring the fascinating world of fungi! This guided event begins with an introduction to fungi - what they are, the vital roles they play in ecosystems, and how we can work with them to build healthy soils in gardens and revegetation projects.
We will then head out on a guided walk where you'll learn how to observe and identify different types of fungi in the field. You'll also get hands-on experience using the iNaturalist app to make citizen-science records that contribute to a broader understanding of fungal diversity and distribution.
Perfect for curious gardeners, environmental stewards, and anyone interested in the hidden life beneath our feet!
This event will be facilitated by Ema Corro, from citizen science organisation Mycommunity Applied Mycology. Ema is a mycologist who has done research in myco-materials, fungal ecology and using fungi in sustainable agriculture and land management
A light lunch will be served following the activity.
