Discovery Dance
Explore different dance styles and learn basic and intermediate dance techniques.
Experience the benefits of dance with others who love to move. This is a fun way to exercise with a friendly, relaxed group.
Each participant is encouraged to care for their own body. Gentle warm-ups and stretches can be adapted to various needs. The focus is to have fun, move safely and encourage fitness, flexibility and strength. Dance is also great for balance and memory.
Each week we use simple dance moves to create a new short routine – and throw in a few challenges too! We use music from a variety of eras and genres, for example big band swing, Charleston, Latin American, line dance, waltz, soft shoe shuffle, rock ‘n’ roll, ‘60’s, smooth jazz, gypsy folk and many more.
Feedback from a previous participant:
“The tutor, the music, the variety of dances, the care and compassion of tutor and fellow class members - all friendly. Could not wish for a better teacher or content. Best thing I have done."
