Watercolour painting for advanced beginners
This course is designed for students who have completed a beginners watercolour class and are ready to take the next step, building skills and confidence. Over the term, we’ll explore new techniques, develop personal style, and tackle more complex compositions. Each week offers guided projects with room for creative interpretation, encouraging you to grow in confidence while still enjoying the fluid, expressive nature of watercolour. A supportive and relaxed environment—perfect for curious creatives wanting to keep the momentum going!
This class is for people who have completed one term of watercolour basics or equivalent and are familiar with most of these:
- Painting washes and other basic techniques
- Colour mixing exercises
- Painting simple landscapes
- Exploring different brush techniques
- Painting still life
- Capturing light and shadow
- Painting water and reflections
- Introduction to abstract watercolour
With a focus on experimentation and playful exploration, you’ll discover your unique style while gaining the skills and confidence to bring your imagination to life on paper. Unleash your inner artist in a welcoming community of fellow learners and embrace the joy of painting with watercolours!
