Join us for this Autumn/Winter Propagation Workshop for Carers

Get your hands dirty at this propagation workshop with other carers. You'll learn how to nurture and grow plants during the colder weather!

Research has shown that gardening activities and being in nature improves our well-being, reduces feelings of anxiety, stress, loneliness and low self-esteem.

This is especially important for carers who have had a dramatic change in lifestyle, reduced social engagement, lessened personal time and space, and who are less focused on their own wellbeing.

Join us for a fun and informative workshop on propagating plants.  Whether you're a seasoned plant enthusiast or just starting out, this hands-on event is perfect for carers looking to learn new skills and connect with fellow green thumbs.

This workshop will happen at the recently expanded garden of the Panton Hill Neighbourhood House, meaning that you will get your hands dirty and learn some real practical skills!

You can expect to learn:

  • How to prepare a propagation mix
  • Propagate from seed, sprouting and sowing
  • Propagate from plant stem cuttings
  • Benefits of seed saving, including a tomato seed saving demonstration.

You will take home sown seeds and cuttings to plant in your own well-being gardens. You are also encouraged to bring vegetation from your own gardens to share with the group.

Don't miss this opportunity to expand your gardening repertoire and meet other plant-loving carers in a friendly and supportive environment. Spaces are limited, so be sure to secure your spot today!

When: Thursday 7 March 10am - 12:30pm

Where: Panton Hill Neighbourhood House, 18 Bishops Road Panton Hill, Panton Hill, 3759
