Over 1.5 million Victorians volunteer their time, skills and experience in one way or another make a huge contribution to our local communities. Those who volunteer are generally happier, healthier and live longer. Volunteering has many benefits, both for volunteers and the wider community.
Volunteers are an essential part of Living & Learning Nillumbik.
Every week we have over 40 volunteers complete 150 hours of their time across our three Living & Learning hubs to support our activities. They support community learning and social connection by taking on important roles as MakerSpace coordinators, tutors, community gardeners and digital mentors. Volunteers also support in day-to-day activities such as administration, marketing and general support.
Many of the activities at our centres are supported by volunteers.
