Designed to spark your creativity and build confidence, this workshop guides you step-by-step through the process of creating vibrant, deeply detailed artwork by layering colour, texture, and pattern.

Guided by practising artist and experienced visual art teacher Carmen Mazzarotta, this course embraces an “art for joy” approach encouraging creativity, play, and self-expression in a relaxed and supportive environment.

You will learn how to build up a 30.5 cm x 40.6cm canvas using layers of transparent paint, allowing lower levels to shine through and create incredible depth and richness. We will seamlessly incorporate stencils within layers, using high-quality white paint, foam rollers and small water bottles to spread the transparent paint to add striking contrast, fine details, and dynamic movement.

Whether you are a beginner looking to try something new or an experienced artist wanting to add fresh texture and fluid techniques to your toolkit, you’ll leave with a gorgeous, personalised masterpiece and a process that is as relaxing as it is addictive!

This activity is open to people aged 13 years and over. People under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
