Sewing & Repurposing Makerspace - Eltham.jpg

Have you found something at an Op Shop to make into something else? Do you have beloved clothes that need growing, shrinking, patching or mending? This is the MakerSpace for you!

Up-cycling, Re-purposing, Mending and Dressmaking Makerspace Do you have beloved clothes that need growing or shrinking? Visible mending? Patching? Lengthening or shortening? Have you found something at an Op Shop to make into something else? Do you have cushions that need recovering? Would you like to turn your old sheets and jeans into wildlife pouches or bags? Maybe you are inspired to make some cloth masks to save the environment from all the disposable ones.

Bring your sewing basket or your sewing machine, look through the pattern library or make up one of our kits. Share your skills and ideas and learn new ones. Make new friends, have a cuppa and relax for the afternoon.

This activity is held at Eltham Living & Learning Hub and is open to people 18 years and over.

More about MakerSpaces

Makerspaces are creative social spaces where people share their passion for their art or craft and learn from each other. They are coordinated by volunteers.

Join a group for a low annual fee and then come along to as many of their sessions as you'd like across the year.

If you have an idea for a MakerSpace, or if the group you are interested in is fully booked, why not propose a new group? Contact us to discuss your ideas.
