This one-day course will offer the full range of front of house aspects to working in a café/small restaurant environment with specific focus on barista training, and customer service.
Learners will gain hands on experience in the safe operation of a commercial coffee machine learning how to prepare and make a range of coffee types, know and observe safe practices in using an espresso machine and grinder, and have a basic understanding of how to shut down and clean the coffee-making equipment. Skills such as customer service and teamwork will be covered and reinforced through role plays and simulated work scenarios. This course is aimed at providing people looking for a job in cafes or hospitality with some basic experience in the industry. On completion you will receive a Certificate of Participation. Open to anyone over 15 years of age.
