Join our weekly sessions with an experienced Volunteer Coordinator in our community garden at Panton Hill Living & Learning Hub.

Whether you are an experienced gardener or absolute beginner‚ everyone is welcome to join this volunteer group and participate.

Being in this group means you get to:

Participants will share knowledge and learn skills together, such as:

  • site assessment and microclimates
  • soil types, testing and amendments
  • seasonal planning: food crops and crop rotation
  • companion planting and cover crops
  • plant propagation
  • the soil food web: nutrient cycling, soil and plant health
  • composting: various methods to recycle food and garden waste
  • worm farming
  • wicking beds: raised beds and containers
  • no-dig gardens
  • straw bale gardens
  • mulch and sheet mulching
  • create fertiliser teas
  • garden maintenance
  • integrated pest management (IPM)
  • Panton Hill seed library: saving and storing seeds.
