CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care
About the course
Become a qualified educator in the early childhood field.
It is now mandatory for all workers in the field of Early Childhood Education and Care to have the Certificate III as a minimum qualification.
The course has been designed in consultation with industry and includes both theory and hands-on learning. Topics covered include Children’s Health and Safety, Play and Development, Physical and Emotion wellbeing, Culture and Community and First Aid.
The learning experience is enhanced with weekly sessions delivered by our experienced trainers and assessors using a variety of resources and learning activities such as, participation in Supported Play groups for hands on experience.
Work placement/industry experience
120 hours of work placement is required in this course, organised by Living & Learning Nillumbik.
You will complete placement over 2 blocks, hours and days depending on availability.
A current working with children check, and COVID vaccination is required.
We work with over 20 early childhood services across the region for student placements and professional networks. Our relationship with these early childhood services helps us to provide training that is relevant and up-to-date, promotes best practice, and also creates employment opportunities for graduates.
Our placement model offers maximum support for our learners with a balance of theoretical learning and the practical application of your knowledge in industry. Assessors will also visit you a number of times in the workplace providing further training and assessment.
Practical Placement can also be an effective pathway into employment – over 95% of our students are offered employment before completing the course.
