Neighbourhood House Week
Published on 13 April 2022
Neighbourhood House Week, happening 9-15 May, is a nationwide initiative to celebrate the role of Neighbourhood Houses and Living & Learning Centres in local communities across the nation.
A common thread that runs through every one of the 1000+ centres across Australia is their inclusive nature: anyone and everyone is welcome, and members of the community are encouraged to help in the house’s organisation, management and use.
Reflecting on the past two years and the lessons we learnt on the importance of social connection and community resilience, this year’s theme is ‘Building resilience by bringing people together’. The aim is to look forward to rebuilding a more resilient and connected community as many of us re-emerge from the lockdowns that saw so many Australians isolated during this unprecedented time in our country’s history.
To celebrate Neighbourhood House week we invite you to sign up for one (or more!) of our activities offered from our three sites.
Bookings are essential as places are limited.
