About Living & Learning Nillumbik
Imagine a world of resilient people and connected communities.
That's Living & Learning Nillumbik's vision for the people and communities we work with, and we'll get there by working together with individuals, local communities and government to create a range of opportunities where people share, learn and connect.
Living & Learning Nillumbik works within a community development framework to:
- provide local opportunities for people to belong, link to resources, gain knowledge and skills and discover pathways to further learning or employment
- organise and deliver a wide range of recreational and social programs
- deliver and award nationally-recognised training qualifications for Council (Registered Training Organisation No. 3989).
Living & Learning Nillumbik has centres at Eltham, Panton Hill and Diamond Creek with courses located at a range of other facilities across the Shire. It is a member of Nillumbik Shire Council’s Community Participation Unit and has a community-based committee which develops its strategic directions in partnership with Council.
The Community Participation Unit of Council is responsible for delivery of a range of community programs contributing to quality of life opportunities for residents and visitors to the Shire. It comprises the following teams: Edendale Community Environment Farm, Arts and Cultural Development, Living & Learning Nillumbik, Community Development and Inclusion, Community Facilities and Libraries.
